Spontaneous Language - Red Red Rose 02/19/2010

The Spontaneous language of the heart first really touched my life when I met my good friend Rose through Myspace in 2007. I was in New York working on my first Robert Burns album (The Kilmarnock Edition) and she was in SE England doing the RT Burns Group. The very day we became Myspace friends I had been excitedly working on a new version of Red, Red Rose, And, by some dev'lish cantraip sleight, sweet Rose with the beautiful red, red hair came into my life and we have been fast Myspace, RT Burns and Facebook friends ever since. Then, this past summer Red Red Rose and I collaborated through FB with others from all over the world to put on a Robert Burns fund-raising concert in Glasgow Scotland, benefiting Yorkhill Children's Hospital and the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum. The friendship and relationship I have with Rose is so special and unique and would never have existed were it not for Robert Burns and the Spontaneous Language of The Heart of Red Red Rose.

I sang this song to my husband in the last few moments of his life, he died of a brain tumor and could understand but not speak. The song and his death changed me forever

The Spontaneous Language of The Heart

Robert Burns once commented that he "never had the least thought or inclination of turning poet till I got once heartily in love, and then rhyme and song were, in a manner, the spontaneous language of my heart." This web page is dedicated to the Spontaneous Language of The Heart. Share how Burns's Spontaneous Language of The Heart touched your life.
